

A Jan. Term course will be offered through the Biology Department Jan. 2-10, 2009 (these
are the normal Jan term dates for 2009). The title of the course is "Biological and Environmental Conservation in the Chesapeake Bay Region" and it will be listed as Biology 349. It will be graded and will earn three hours of credit towards the Biology BA degree but will not count as the upper level lab requirement. Also, it will be listed in the Environmental Sciences Department, as EVSC 494- three hours credit, for students wishing to enroll through that department. The course will be taught at the Long Term Ecological Research station on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Blandy Farm Research Station near Washington, DC. Field work and travel visits will be included in the curriculum. Enrollment will be limited to 20 students. PLEASE NOTE: The J-Term Biology course in Belize will not be taught in January 2009. Please check with the Study Abroad office or the Biology web site early in the Spring 2009 semester to see when it will be taught again.
