At the University of Virginia, a Business Professional is an administrative
employee charged with duties ranging from budget to student system activity. They may be responsible for financial
information, such as accounting records, grants and contracts, and procurements, or staffing concerns, such as hiring and
timekeeping. Although the tasks specific to each Business Professional may be different, some things are always
the same.
All Business Professionals must:

endeavor to bring the highest level of professionalism to the discharge of their duties

attend the University business meetings relevant to their work
